Senior Planner
Salary: $67,776 – $90,792 / Year

The City of Riverside Community and Economic Development Department is seeking a dedicated individual to perform advanced-level professional planning work as part of the Current Planning team. The Senior Planner will be responsible for managing complex development projects and reviewing the work of subordinate professional, para-professional, and technical staff engaged in a broad range of planning programs. The ideal candidate will be a skilled project manager with a proven ability to foster effective working relationships with members of the community, city personnel, and related agencies. Excellent customer service skills in communicating and providing technical assistance are a must.

Qualifications:

Option I:
Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in planning or a related field considered to be useful in City planning
Experience: Two years of professional experience in urban planning and zoning work.

Option II:
Education: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in planning or a related field considered to be useful in City planning.
Experience: Three years of professional experience in urban planning and zoning work.

Highly Desired Qualifications:
Possession of professional experience in urban planning and zoning working for a municipality.
AICP Certification from the American Planning Association.
Experience presenting to Planning Commission(s) and City Council.
Possession of a Master’s degree.
