Senior Facilities Planner

The Capital Planning unit at the University of California, Riverside is seeking a Senior Facilities Planner. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Capital Planning, the Senior Facilities Planner is responsible for professional analytical work in support of moderately difficult studies and long range planning. Responsible for project or program planning related to capital projects, physical planning and environmental planning. Provide professional analysis of project and program options. Provide analytical support in support of planning studies, including the collection, organization, analysis and presentation of options and recommendations based on data. Work on capital projects and initiatives, including renovations and alterations, minor and major capital improvement projects. Participate in collaborative building and program planning that involves committees and workshops. Assess existing capital-related business policy, processes and practices and offer recommendations for improvement. Responsible for project analyses related to the campus’ capital improvement program along with the preparation of program and project documents and funding proposals.

Job Requirements

Graduation from college with work in city planning, finance, engineering, or other planning-related fields.

Demonstrated ability to organize and present information concisely and clearly in both oral and written formats.

Demonstrated basic analytical skills, including the ability to organize and interpret data.

Sound judgment and sensitivity to issues of policy, community, and process.

Demonstrated ability to write and edit documents involving project or program proposals and justifications.

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate objectives and issues and work effectively with user groups, internal technical staff, and outside consultants.

Ability to innovatively manage multiple assignments concurrently.

Experience with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
