The Alisal Vibrancy Plan’s engagement efforts centered on equity, inclusivity, and partnerships with community-based organizations, allowing the City of Salinas to reach over 2,000 residents in a 95% Hispanic/Latino neighborhood. This session discusses best practices for removing participation barriers and building resident capacity and leadership in planning. Staff and residents will share the strategies, tools and partnerships that resulted in meaningful engagement with residents who had not previously took part in City planning efforts.
