Administrative Intern

The Position
The City of Brea is seeking a talented upper division undergraduate or graduate level college student to serve as an Administrative Intern for the Community Development Department. The position will support department-wide projects and programs and will have an opportunity to work with all of the department’s divisions: Administration, Economic Development & Housing, Building & Safety, and Planning. Under direct supervision, Administrative Interns perform a variety of entry-level professional administrative work, gradually increasing in level of difficulty and responsibility as the incumbent receives on-the-job training related to the activities of the department. This is a part-time position usually between 19-27 hours per week. Flexibility for class schedules can be considered.

In Order to Qualify
Candidates must be currently enrolled in upper division undergraduate or graduate level courses in an accredited college or university program with course work in the area of urban planning, public administration, architecture, public policy, business administration or other comparable areas. Candidates with experience in project management, GIS, and or/or urban design are highly desirable.
