Facilities Planner

The Capital Planning unit at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) is seeking a Facilities Planner. Under the general supervision of the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Capital Planning, the Facilities Planner is responsible for professional analytical work in support of routine studies and long range planning. Responsible for early project or program planning related to potential capital projects, physical planning and environmental planning. Provide analytical support in support of planning studies, such as collection, organization, analysis and presentation of data. Work on routine capital projects and simple environmental analysis. Participate in collaborative building and program planning that involves committees and workshops. Assess existing planning related processes and practices and make recommendations for improvement. Responsible for the development of planning analyses related to the campus physical and capital development; along with the preparation of simple program and project documents and funding proposals.

Job Requirements

Graduation from college with coursework in planning, architecture, engineering, or finance.

Demonstrated ability to organize and present information concisely and clearly in both oral and written formats.

Demonstrated basic analytical skills, including the ability to organize and interpret data.

Sound judgment and sensitivity to issues of policy, community, and process.

Demonstrated ability to write and edit documents involving project or program proposals and justifications.

Strong interpersonal skills with ability to communicate objectives and issues and work effectively with user groups, internal technical staff, and outside consultants.

Ability to innovatively manage multiple assignments concurrently.

Experience with the Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
