— WILL BE RESCHEDULED —
While jobs and employment growth continue to challenge the transportation network, local agencies are working to grow multi-modal options. City and County staff are responding to community demands and policy mandates by securing funding and implementing design treatments. As the regional transportation planning agency, the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) works to provide strategic support, technical expertise, and funding support. The presentation will discuss local efforts and solutions to improve quality of life for communities, better serving vulnerable users throughout the county.
Planners attending this program will learn how:
* GIS-based modeling can guide investment in the pedestrian realm.
* Evaluating crash history can develop grant-ready engineering solutions to common crash types.
* Leveraging regional planning efforts will empower cities to secure statewide funding.
