Community Development Director

The City of Rancho Cordova is seeking a visionary Community Development Director who is well-versed in contemporary aspects of urban and suburban planning. Reporting to the City Manager, the Community Development Director will oversee Planning, Building & Safety, and Housing responsibilities. To date, planning services are complemented by contract Planning staff and this is expected to continue. The Community Development Director will also work closely with the Public Works Department and Economic Development and Code Enforcement to coordinate and facilitate efficient and responsive services. A Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of progressively responsible experience that includes at least 3 years of management/supervisory experience. The salary range for this at-will position is $138,855 to $168,293 with placement at the top of the range for highly skilled professionals. Additionally, the City offers a performance bonus and a competitive benefits package.
